Whats wrong with my Itunes?

I start it up and a pop up comes up saying:

---------------------------

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

---------------------------

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Please contact the application's support team for more information.

OK

The it shuts down.

Whats wrong with my Itunes?
This has happened to me before. I installed Safari and a few weeks later my iTunes brought up the same exact error message.

Solution:

Uninstall "Apple Software Update" in Add/Remove Programs.

If not, just download and install the latest iTunes (7.3) or revert to an older version at http://www.oldversion.com
Reply:I would uninstall the program at first and then restart the computer. I'm not a computer genius but I'm always curious to know about this stuff. I had this problem before and what I ws told from people on the internet was the best way to install a program after getting this kind of error is to do it in safemode status. Now I would presume that you know how to get to safemode. For most computer,after restarting the computer,you just keep tapping F8 but it could be F1 or ESC as well, it will bring you to the screen where you can choose to go to safemode or normal startup.Choose any kind of safemode startup and then try to install it again just like the way you would do it when the computer runs in a normal mode. Hope this might help.
Reply:The application itself is corrupted. Try reinstalling it again
Reply:Try removing the program then re-download it again.
